Diazem bonding technology takes advantage of both hydrophobic retention mechanisms and secondary acid/base interaction. This yields a linear progressive approach to HPLC separations, and method development becomes a straight forward problem solving tool.
Examples of the power of Diazem bonding technology are shown below: |

The Diazem C18-EC column is a standard C18 column. On a 120‰ silica, this
column is bonded for high retentivity and is well
end-capped to give excellent peak shape. It is a
good general purpose column. Column: 150 mm x 4.6 mm
Mobile Phase: 50% Phosphate at pH=2.1 / 50% ACN
Flow: 1.0 mL/min; Detection: 254 nm; Temp: 30
Deg. C
Compounds: 1. 4-Ethylaniline, 2.
3-Ethylaniline, 3. 2-Ethylaniline, 4. Aetophenone |

The Diazem 2000 bonded phase is
bonded on a 120‰ silica using proprietary silane
pre- and end-cappers to give altered selectivity
relative to normal C18 phases. This is a lower
retentivity column then the C18 EC. The lower
retentivity means quicker run times while still
maintaining excellent resolution. Column:: 150 mm x 4.6 mm
Mobile Phase: A: 2% H3PO4; 0.005M Pentane
Sulfonate B: 50%A / 50%ACN
Gradient: 2% B to 30% (10min)
Flow: 1.5 mL/min; Detection: 254 nm; Temp: 30
Deg. C
Compounds: 1. Metanephrine, 2. 5-hydroxy
tryptophan 3. Serotonin, 4. Tryptophan, 5.
Methyltryptophan |

The Diazem 1120 is a fast column
with excellent chromatographic properties. This
C18, on a 120‰ silica, gives new selectivity
patterns and is particularly useful for analytes
with protonated heteroatoms and some basic sites. Column:: 150 mm x 4.6
mm
Mobile Phase: 50% Phosphate at pH=2.1 / 50% ACN
Flow: 1.0 mL/min; Detection: 254 nm; Temp: 30
Deg. C
Compounds: 1. Carbamazepine, 2. Naproxen
3. Difunisal, 4. Flurbiprofen, 5. Indomethacin |

The Diazem 3000 is truly a unique
column chemistry. On a 120‰ silica, this C18
column will give new selectivity patterns. Where
every other C18 column fails, this column will
solve tough separation problems. Column:: 150 mm x 4.6 mm
Mobile Phase: 2% MeOH/H2O; 0.1% TFA
Flow: 1.0 mL/min; Detection: 254 nm; Temp: 30
Deg. C
Compounds: 1. Uracil, 2. 4-Hydroxybenzoic
Acid 3. Methyl-4-hydroxybenzoate, 4.
Ethyl-4-hydroxybenzoate, 5.
Propyl-4-hydroxybenzoate, 6. Methyl Benzoate |
